Nurturing Bonds: Empowering women to reconnect with their health

THE CHALLENGE

Lake Region Healthcare faced the challenge of increasing awareness and driving appointment volume for its women’s health and pediatrics services. The primary objective was to reconnect with women in the Fergus Falls region by reintroducing them to the health system’s commitment to ensure they always feel supported in actively managing their own health and that of their family.

HUMAN-CENTERED SOLUTION

Data shows that women often place the well-being of others over their own. Unfortunately, this tendency is compounded by the fact that their healthcare concerns are not always adequately addressed. A KFF study found that among women ages 18-64 who had seen a healthcare provider in the past two years:

  • 29% felt their concerns were dismissed
  • 15% felt their provider didn’t believe them
  • 19% felt assumptions were made about them without inquiry
  • 13% felt blamed for their health issues

Our goal with this campaign was to flip the narrative: first, giving women “permission” to prioritize their own well-being, and second, showcasing the positive, attentive care and active listening that define the women’s health experience at Lake Region Healthcare.

IMPACT

Key outcomes included heightened interactions with campaign content, a rise in bookings for women’s health and pediatrics, and reinforcement of Lake Region Healthcare’s role as a supportive partner in health.
